The amount of memory a computer has determines how many things it can "do at once".
If you have 1 Gigabyte of memory installed, Windows Vista will often use about 80% of that just to start up.
For normal use, Windows XP works best with at least 1 gigabyte of memory. Vista and Windows 7 require at least 2 gigabytes.
You can see how much memory is installed on your computer by going to the Start menu, right-clicking on "My Computer" and clicking "Properties" on the pop-up menu. Look for where it says "Installed RAM".
If your system is low on memory, an increasing is the single biggest performance boost you can provide.
There are many different types of memory, and different computers require different modules - please call if you would like assistance. |
