You can equip your shopfloor with touchscreen controlled thermal label printers for a hardware cost of under £800.
These are particuarly useful if you want highly customised labels - more than can be done with a programmable printer.
In this picture is a Zebra LP2824 direct thermal printer. It uses rolls of labels but requires no ink or ribbons.
There is a small form factor Shuttle computer running Windows XP, and a custom software interface.
The system uses no keyboard or mouse - all input is on the touchscreen. Text input is provided by a "pop-up" keyboard.
It has the added benefit of keeping complete logs of all labels printed, and with a networked system several units can all share the same label definitions.
The complete cost of the system depends upon the complexity required in the control software - please email for further details. |
